Visitors to Heritage Farmstead events
can experience life as it
was lived in the early days of Iredell
County. The site includes a two-story log house, one-room cabin,
smoke house, corn crib, blacksmith shop, privy, barn, and herb garden
along with an adjacent one-room schoolhouse.

Take I-40 to Exit 150 (two exits west of the I-77 & I-40
interchange) Travel north on Rt. 115 to Chipley Ford Road. Turn
right on Chipley Ford. Turn right onto Museum Road and follow to
museum site. Heritage Farmstead is on left, Heritage Learning Center
is on right.
Events Various heritage events such as a
spring planting, autumn Harvest Day and Christmas 1862 at the Cabins
feature living history presentations of traditional culture. Please
check the calendar section for a complete listing.
Nature Trail Directly across from the Homestead, visitors can hike the Nature
Trail year round. The Nature Trail encompasses a native ridge trail
and what may be the last remaining wildflower site in the city.
